Old Friends , New Memories

It has been a wonderful weekend. I got a chance to meet 2 of my long lost friends accidentally. We had been pretty close then. Higher studies took us in different paths.

After my +2, i joined NIT Calicut( okay, It was REC Calicut then). Between those 2 (i.e +2 exams and joining NIT Calicut) there was a gap of around 3.5 months. It was way before e-mail was revolutionized in India. So the natural medium of communication was through letter's. I was regularly in touch with most of my friends. I used to get at least 2 letters everyday... But once i joined the college, i hardly had time to write to them. New friends, new responsibilities made me forget the old ones. Eventually lost touch with everybody.

Now that, Social networking is a big hit and is the flavor of the season, i have made contact with most of those lost ones, through orkut of course. But once i add them as a friend, i just scrap them once or maybe twice. Even the friends i met accidentally, i hardly had anything to talk after 15mins. Are these the same people with whom i have endlessly talked ten years back? We were just looking at each others face now.

Is this the foul play of the wheel of time? Does time have so much effect on us? The thought itself sends shivers down.

The lesson learnt, try to be in touch with all those you care for. It will be too late later on.

The First One

Its been sometime since i have been writing a blog. But, that i have been writing in Telugu, My Mother Tongue. After a few blogs, i have realized that i am unable to continue with that. All my love for the language could not help me continue the writings. I am surprised. I dont remember an equivalent word in Telugu for the feeling i had. Oh god, i don't recollect words in Telugu , The language which i love most, the language of my land, the language of my people, the language i learnt from my birth, The language i have been speaking for a quarter of the century.

Maybe, Its more to do with the fact that i haven't written anything in Telugu for say, 12 years. So the passion for the language rekindled in me. With a strong determination, bounced back on Telugu Literature. So it might take some more time to get back the grip on the language.
Till i reinvent myself, i have nothing but to express myself in the modern day mother tongue.

Its not that i stop writing my blog in english after i restart in telugu, Its sort of a second priority :-)
